Design Features of Two-Stage Line Voltage Thermostats for Ventilation
Each unit is housed in either a NEMA 1 steel, stainless steel, or NEMA 4X rated enclosure to meet varying environmental demands, including resistance to dust, minor splashing, or high-pressure washdowns. Users can select between fixed bulb and remote bulb sensor configurations. A standard 6-foot sensor cord enhances installation flexibility in tight or remote control spaces.
Functional Operation of Two-Stage Line Voltage Thermostats
These thermostats utilize an SPDT/SPDT switching configuration to manage multi-stage ventilation responses. When ambient temperature reaches the initial setpoint, the first switch energizes a single-speed fan. If the temperature increases approximately 3°F beyond the first threshold, the second switch activates, triggering either a damper motor or an additional fan. This two-stage response enhances thermal regulation without manual intervention.
Refer to Figure 4 to the right for a detailed wiring diagram illustrating the progressive control sequence from initial fan activation to secondary ventilation engagement.
