Two-Stage Control for Heating or Cooling
Cooling Applications with Two-Speed Fans
In scenarios involving cooling, such as in areas with two-speed fans:
- Low Speed Activation: Set the controller to 75°F. Relay 2 (R2) connects to the low-speed function of the fan, which activates when the ambient temperature hits 75°F.
- High Speed Activation: Set the differential temperature 5°F higher at 80°F. Relay 1 (R1) controls the high-speed motor, which kicks in for more aggressive cooling as the temperature rises to 80°F.
Heating Applications with Dual Units
- Different heating units can be managed by both relays. One unit turns on as the temperature starts to fall, and a second kicks in if the drop continues, ensuring consistent and efficient heating.
Two-Stage Control for Combined Heating and Cooling
Manage both heating and cooling efficiently using one or two sensors:
- Cooling Mode: With Relay 2 (R2), maintain the temperature between 70°F and 75°F to keep the cooling equipment active.
- Heating Mode: With Relay 1 (R1), activate a heating device when the temperature drops below the desired threshold.
- Dual Sensor Use: Optionally, a second sensor can monitor a different environment, allowing one controller to manage one heating and one cooling device in separate locations.
