Tempro’s Two-Stage Line Voltage Thermostats for Heating are built to precisely regulate temperatures in industrial and commercial heating systems. Designed for durability, these thermostats are housed in sturdy steel or stainless-steel NEMA 1 rated enclosures, or NEMA 4X rated enclosures, providing protection from dust, light exposure, minor splashing and wash down environments. They are well-suited for standard indoor or outdoor applications.

Key Features and Construction
Tempro’s two-stage heating thermostats, come with fixed bulb sensors that deliver reliable and consistent performance. The durable construction ensures longevity, even in demanding environments, while providing straightforward temperature control.
How the Two-Stage Line Voltage Thermostats for Heating Works
The SPDT/SPDT configuration controls the two heating stages effectively. Here’s a breakdown of the process:
- Engaging the First Stage: As the ambient temperature drops to the set knob position, the high-temperature switch activates. This connection makes contact between the Red-Brown wire or Blue dot and Yellow dot points, turning on the first stage of heating.
- Activating the Second Stage: If the temperature continues to fall by approximately 3°F, the low-temperature switch engages. This action establishes contact between the Red-Blue points, triggering the second stage of heating. This sequential heating ensures optimal energy use and maintains a comfortable environment even as temperatures fluctuate.
For reference, Figure 7 to the right in the manual illustrates the typical wiring setup for SPDT/SPDT units, showing how each stage is activated based on temperature changes.
