Tempro Thermostat Guards also offer protection for by-pass timers & wall switches. Each guard can be mounted horizontally or vertically, offering flexible installation options. Built for tamper resistance, every guard is available with a chrome-plated lock & two brass keys for added security.

How do I install a thermostat guard?

I need to replace a guard supplied by another manufacturer. Do you have a replacement option?

Can I install your guard over an existing thermostat?

Yes! Our thermostat guards can be mounted with or without the wall plate. Remove the wall plate and install the guard directly over the thermostat and mount to the wall.

I lost my keys to unlock my current guard. Do you have replacements?

Yes! Extra keys can be purchased at a quantity of 2 each. All Tempro thermostat guards are keyed alike, ensuring key replacements will work with the existing guard.

I need to read the thermostat’s temperature without unlocking or removing the guard. Is that possible?

Our clear plastic thermostat guards allow the user to the see the thermostat clearly without having to unlock or remove the guard.

I’d like to adjust my thermostat without removing the guard. Can I do this?

Our hinged thermostat guards (beige metal and stainless steel models) allow the user to open and close the guard with ease.

Do your thermostat guards have ventilation to ensure airflow for an accurate temperature reading?

All of our Tempro thermostat guards have vents and are tested for air flow to ensure the temperature is reading the air temperature accurately.

Are the Tempro thermostat guards NEMA rated or waterproof?

No. The thermostat guards’ main function is to protect the thermostat from tampering hands, however it also needs vents in order to let the air flow through, to ensure the thermostat is reading the rooms’ temperature accurately. Creating a completely sealed thermostat guard would change the temperature inside of the guard over time, causing the thermostat to actuate at an incorrect temperature.
