Two-speed fans are commonly found in agricultural and industrial facilities to maintain cool air temperatures. By pairing these fans with a two-stage electronic temperature controller, facilities can achieve significant energy savings and prevent extreme temperature situations. Two Stage Electronic Temperature Control for Heating & Cooling

Benefits of a Two-Stage Electronic Temperature Controller

Using a two-stage temperature controller allows you to adjust when a fan operates at low speed, high speed, or is turned off. For example:

  • When the ambient temperature reaches a high point (80°F), the high-speed fan will activate.
  • As the air cools to a lower temperature (70°F), the controller switches the fan to low-speed mode.
  • When the temperature drops further (60°F), the controller shuts down the cooling system completely.

This cycle repeats as temperatures fluctuate, ensuring the fan only runs when necessary.

Technical Specifications

    • Supplied with a single NTC sensor (can use two) to sense ambient air or fluid temperature.
    • Relay 2 (R2): Rated for 1/2HP @ 120VAC (8A@120VAC) to control the low-speed function of a fan.
    • Relay 1 (R1): Rated for 2HP @ 120VAC (20A@120VAC) to control the high-speed function of a fan.
    • Adjustable Temperature Range: -30°F to 250°F, maintaining temperature within 1° of your set point.

See the wiring diagram for more details on setup and installation.

Tempro Electronic Temperature Controller

Single Stage Electronic Temperature Controller

We also offer a single-stage electronic temperature controller for operating a single-speed fan or shutting down equipment when temperatures rise. In agricultural buildings, where hay and dry grass pose fire hazards, this controller can be crucial. It can sense when the air temperature reaches an extremely high point (150°F) and shut down the fan system to prevent fire spread until the temperature normalizes.
